Meeting minutes for September 19, 2023

Go over minutes from last month

David- Has the equipment trailer and will take it over to the fairgrounds before our Oct race.

Emily- Insurance certificate has been completed and our account balance is $789

Sponsorship- They are going through past sponsor data and working on getting new sponsors. We need to find out if the fairgrounds is going to charge us for vendors,

Niki- For the race guide, do we want to co-sanction with OBRA, BSCC, NWBHA? it was discussed and the answer is yes. Do we want to continue with BIF? yes.

New Business:

-Do we want to allow members who bring in a full saddle sponsorship to be able to tie their horses up in the barn for the season? Courtney motions, Stephanie 2nds. vote passes. If you bring in a full saddle sponsor you will be able to tie your horse up inside for the remainder of the season!

We need to look into changing the start time for our December race because it is on a sunday. possibly move it forward an hour and start at 10AM.

Jessica will talk to the fairgrounds about panels.

Should we change our race from a 4D to a 5D? Tammy brought it up at the last meeting and Niki went back over last year's results and redid them as though it were a 5D format. After looking at the different payout structure Courtney motions to change to a 5D and Janice 2nds. The vote did not pass so CBRC will remain a 4D race.  

Sponsorship dilemma- how can we sell sponsorships and get more sponsors if there is nowhere to put the sponsors logo or name on the award that is given out? Niki motions that awards will have sponsor name on them where applicable. David 2nds, vote passes. 

Do we want to do the sheriff's posse side pot for our November race? Yes we will and Kit will ask the posse about doing our clean up at the December race in return.
